CNN’s Blatant Display Of Racism Against The Royal Baby Of Sussex Made My Stomach Turn

Royal baby of Sussex

A jarring racist headline from CNN about the color of the skin of the Royal Baby of Sussex, made my stomach turn.

The world news that the Royal baby had arrived broke like a summer storm. By good fortune, the Royal baby boy of Sussex, arrived safe and sound. I was thrilled and relieved to hear that Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex “had safely delivered a son at 526 AM” on 6 May 2019.  As any woman who has gone through the labour can tell you, this could have gone wrong at any moment. Delivery is a straightforward, natural process, but it can also turn in any direction.

The birth of a child is the happiest day of parents’ life, but this joyful moment extends further to the whole UK as we love the Royal family.

I love the Royal Family and that it upholds and celebrates its long-standing traditions. We are all attached to Prince Harry and Prince William, because of their mother who was, and still is, a role model of what a woman can be and how she can serve a higher good.

We all loved Diana and being able to see her little boys now as grown-up men, getting their babies is a wonderful news.

CNN’s blatant display of racism

While I was scrolling down my Ipad to find out more news about the Royal Baby of Sussex, reading through the headlines and public notes of congratulations, something immediately got my attention. I was shocked and really upset to see it. I am still under this lingering, uncomfortable feeling as I am composing this entry.

CNN, “the most trusted name in news” in America, fired the first news rocket across-the-pond, in the form of a racist headline:” How black will the Royal baby be?”

Did I see it right? I went back to re-read it. Yes, I saw it right. They asked a racist question on the most trusted if not the most known and watched American cable TV.

How is this possible? I would think that after having Barack Obama elected as America’s first black president, it would not be acceptable to headline racist questions? How much black Baby Sussex will be? Really?

CNN asked none questions about the baby’s name or the baby’s health or the mother’s well being who, by the way, is American. Instead, they’ve already discriminated against the Royal newborn based on the color of his skin.

The Royal baby of Sussex has only spent a few hours on this planet and he already got the racist sticker to his forehead. He is already labelled. CNN labelled him publicly!

Ladies and Gentlemen of CNN: the slavery and the racial division is a thing of the past. What you asked in your breaking news headline is not acceptable by any standard of a civilised world.

You attack Trump for giving a platform to white nationalists, but then, you put out a question like this? How is this different than Trump? Just another extreme that is totally out of line.
