I would like to say a big thank you to the charities that provide baby banks across the UK. They enable mothers under financial pressure to get peace of mind and access a support system that can give them a little room to breathe until they get their bearings.
Every mother knows how hard it is, especially in the first months, to take care of the baby and adjust to the new way of life and its responsibilities while taking care of herself so she can be the mother she needs to be, and give her child a good start in life.
Mothers your help
Breastfeeding is a cheaper option than bottle feeding but mothers need to have proper versatile diet and vitamins so they can successfully produce the milk to feed the baby. This does not affect only “poor” families. There are many problems that can occur that can get you quickly into the “in need situation”
If mothers are struggling financially and depending on benefits, there is a constant fear that their children will be taken away. Just because parents are struggling financially, doesn’t mean that they are bad parents.
One of the amazing charities I learned about is “Little Village” charity, a baby bank that is based in a church hall in Balham, South London. They collect clothes, toys, and equipment for babies and children up to the age of five. Their mission is simple but inspiring: No child in the capital should grow up without the essentials for daily life.
All the clothes, bottles, or things that didn’t work really for my child will be useful for some other child. It makes me really happy to know that someone else can enjoy the things that my son didn’t even have a chance to wear much as he was outgrowing everything so fast.
Donate to baby banks
If you have clothes your children do not need anymore, pushchairs or baby essentials such as bottles, nappies, or anything you can think would make the lives of mothers esier, you can get in touch with the charity Little Village and donate these items.
If you have none of this, you can always donate money and contribute in that way.
There is only a certain point where any government can help these types of , so we must stay connected as a community and help those who need our help.
The spring is here, clear out your children’s wardrobes and donate to baby banks so that all children can have childhood we want for our own children.
