Morning Routine

Lately, everyone is asking me how do I go about my day? And how do I manage to juggle my baby, singing, the TWOW, and a semblance of family life? I share my so-called morning routine that I believe helps me to have a healthy balanced life. From time to time I am a Humpty Dumpty and I do fall from the wall as many mothers and busy women do, but it is about mastering the art of picking yourself up.

Little morning routines play a key role here. Routines that you do every day will automatically kick in when you don’t have things under control. That is why is important to practice your morning routine religiously on good and bad days so they are there ready and can benefit you when you need them most.

5:30 AM Every morning, I wake up before my son, and make coffee for me and the milk and breakfast for him, before I see his first, most beautiful smile that makes my day as it is just starting. I read something uplifting for a few minutes and then I meditate. Sometimes I meditate in silence and sometimes, depending on my mood, I meditate with an audio guide.

Deepak Chopra is my favorite and it works for me, but there are so many others that are good so if you are thinking of setting up your routine, you can find the one that works for you. You can find guided meditations on the podcast app such as Hay house meditation podcas, or Davidji and many others.

Morning Routine

During the week I am in London and not any part of London, a very busy Westminster part. When I want to meditate, I try to do it before the street noise kicks in. Sitting on my yoga mat with eyes closed is my sanctuary.

6:00 A.M. After my meditation, my focus is reserved for cuddles with the most handsome little man ever that give me the purpose and strength in life. I feed him and change him and then it is time for the gym. My mum if she is around or my husband if she is not, takes over looking after Blake, so that I can go down to the gym and work out for an hour. If there is no one to take Blake, I take him with me for a short workout.I do the treadmill and elliptical and then some of the Kayla Itsines body resistance exercises.

8:00 A.M. I have my breakfast. I will usually have blueberries with almond and Greek yogurt. Or if I am looking for a morning dose of protein, I have eggs and avocado. I check my emails, prepare lunch for Blake in advance and then I play with my little one until I put him for his first nap time.

Morning Routine

9:00 A.M I try to take care of any work I have to do in the morning so the rest of the day I can use for singing practice and for a walk in the park with my son. I plan my weekly posts for the Wives of Westminster, and I work on my articles and any other business related matters until lunch time.

12:00 P.M. I am usually having lunch or a coffee with my husband in Parliament that is just a few blocks from our flat and I take Blake-Perun with me. This is sometimes the only time our family can be together as he often works late in the evening in Parliament sometimes 11 pm by then Blake is well asleep.
